Anyone Know Why the Cozmo Pump is Discontinued?

We got a letter in the mail saying Smiths Medical isn't providing the Cozmo pump for direct sale anymore. But, they're honoring the warranty for all old and new customers. We have 4 years left on ours, but it sucks that now we'll have to switch after that time.

Has anyone heard about why they've discontinued the Cozmo?

  • We're bummed about the Cozmo too :( Kacey just got hers a week before they made the announcement! Hopefully in 4 years they will have something else on the market.

  • I'm an employee at Smiths, and agree that it was unfortunate the company decided to exit the diabetes business, but they had their reasons. We make a great product and know how happy our customers are with their pumps.
    The warranty for the pump is still covered, and our customers will still receive the same level of service and support as they always have.
    As for switching to a new pump, you should speak with Customer Service, and they will help you find one when it is time.

    This is a great shame, I really like the flexibility and features of the Cozmo. I'm about halfway through my warranty. Maybe we'll get lucky and another company will buy up the design.
