Mom Wants A Diabetes Cure

The List

1. Brendon's school nurse quit and no one knew about it until the new school nurse was announced over the speaker during morning announcements....this was 2 weeks after she quit. The new nurse never worked with kids with diabetes before. In the meantime, he was dealing with a substitute nurse who called me to tell me what a pleasure it was to work with Brendon.

2. Jessica went to the school nurse with chest pain and we talked about it that night at dinner. Brendon suggested that maybe she has amnesia. He meant pneumonia.

3. I've been going to the gym and have lost 13 pounds. I need to lose more.

4. I have nothing else to talk about.

This video is so twisted, which is probably why I think it's funny as hell.

  • Glad to see you back! Now maybe it will motivate me to get my blogging-arse in gear. And 13 lbs. - you go girl!

As for the nurse - we have 3 Educational Assistants (EA's) trained to help Tomas. And yet, not a single one of them was there last week so it WAS ME that had to go to the school to make sure he bolused correctly. [Else he can't be at school, blah blah blah.] You can bet your bottom dollar that the school heard about that.

  • HI ShannonnanonI just wanted to thank you SO much for your support and care that you have sent over the ocean. The past month has been extrememly difficult, and I am having immense trouble dealing with the symptoms, but Lance's happy-go-lucky nature is still there, larger than ever. He has kept me afloat through the diagnosis, and the constant ignorance from his specialists.I do hope you and fam are doing well-CONGRATS on the weight loss, girl!!! I don't know WHERE on earth you needed to lose weight from, but Im so proud of you anyway!~!!Anyway, I will be sure to email you if I need you as a sounding board. We  have an opthamologist test at the end of Jan 09. I am worried silly about that. If PN has happened, retinopathy could have happened just as easily. I know..stay positive, but atm, it's a huge ask.Happy Holidays, Shannon, and I hope that you all have a wonderful Xmas, and that u enjoy your day as a family together. You guys are pretty much one of the grooviest families I have gotten to know. (In America anyway..lol) Thanks again Shannon, it has meant the world to me that you have sent your messages of love and care.Big love, Kate
