I Really Don't Know What To Title This Post

Jessica was sitting on the edge of the kitchen table watching me cook dinner:

"Mom, I'm happy you are who you are and daddy is who he is. We get to celebrate Hanukkah because Daddy is Jewish. And we get to celebrate Christmas because you're human."

  • Umm. Yeah...;)

  • Kids are great, aren't they? Thanks for the chuckle this morning.

  • How profound, I think she's on to something.

  • I burst out laughing at this one Shannon... how great! I've just been through a BIG church debacle so it's great to hear a child's perpective!

By Blogger Keith, at 12/06/2007 12:23 PM

  • Hey Keith! Where've you been????

By Blogger Shannon, at 12/06/2007 12:29 PM

  • Oh my god, this made me cry, I was laughing so hard.

But it's good to know you're human, Shannon.

  • Like Julia, I laughed so frickin' hard that I cried. Then had to send it to a few people. They also laughed until they cried.

Man, that is funny. Re-reading it now. Still laughing.

Almost as funny as a fig leaf. ;)

  • Shannon,
I love when kids say stuff like this. When my kids were little, I started keeping a notebook of the cute things they would say. If I ever want to laugh & cry at the same time, I get out those notebooks.

It sounds like you've got some great material in Jessica. How cute!

  • That is hilarious. I had to curb my laughter so I wouldn't wake up my daughter. Like the name of the show Bill Cosby use to host, "Kids say the darnedest things"

  • Hilarious!

Maybe Title it - The Human Side of Shannon.

  • You should chronicle her perspectives on things as Jessicisms.

    So innocent, yet revolutionary!

  • lol, oh Shannon that is the best Christmas Cheer yet!
Very human, lol. Oh my kids say the best one liners!
    I cannot stop laughing!
