Third Time's A Charm

Jessica lost a tooth on Thursday.

She received $3.....one dollar for every night the tooth fairy "forgot" to come. She almost received $4.

I think she knows the truth because cousin Elizabeth told her the tooth fairy isn't real.

I tried to convince her that she IS real.

Jessica seemed skeptical when, in the middle of the day after Jeff asked if I put money under her pillow and I raced up to do it, I asked if she checked under her pillow to see if the tooth fairy came.

"No, I looked when I woke up and my tooth was still there."

"Go check now."

She went upstairs and came down with $3.

She didn't seem excited about it.

  • Too funny. We always forgot about the tooth fairy, too. BUT, so did our kids so we could usually get the money under the pillow at some point the next day.

  • OMG - a "late payment penalty".Many years ago, after my dad died, we were cleaning out everything so my M could move to a smaller house. In the bottom drawer of her big dresser was a bandaid box full of all of our baby teeth - 4 kids. There was something so eerie about it.......

  • the tooth fairy (moi) used to leave silver dollars under miss holly's pillow for each tooth. When she was 6, she had to have her 6 front teeth removed, have her upper palate punched and a spreader put in. poor thing had to have general anesthesia and it was a terribly horrifying experience. but, the tooth fairy did her job. that night she removed the 6 teeth and left 6 silver dollars under miss holly's pillow.

the next morning she came out from her room VERY UPSET. in her little lisping voice (no front teeth) she said "for all i went through, i should have got 20 bucks!"

    that's my girl!

  • Yea I wonder what the repercussions will be once they figure out the old fat man and the flying dental lady do not exist.

  • The funniest thing is that Brendon has faith that she's real. He won't let anyone tell him otherwise. The same goes for Santa.
