Mom Wants A Diabetes Cure

My name was Veronica.

But, now it's Melissa.

I am my daughter's babysitter.

I'm not even the grandmother.

But, she still thinks of me as mom.

"Mom, help me get dressed."

"OK, after I finish my coffee."

"Help me get dressed now!"

"I will when I'm finished."

"I'll make you babysit her all day long."

If Baby Alive were really alive, I believe I would've been afraid of that threat and jumped up to help her a lot sooner.

  • I had to read this 5 times to understand what "Baby Alive" was. But I hated having to drag some fake crying baby around in high school.

  • When I was little Baby Alive looked like a normal baby - now she has crazy eyes. I'd hide her in the closet. :)

  • Baby Alive. The doll that pees ;) My kids think that's cool. Just wait until they're grown up and have a baby of their own LOL.

I remember as a kid, the baby alive's back then actually ate food - this gelatinous substance they called baby food and the dolls mouth moved as you shoved the stuff in. I never had one, but I'm thinking that baby alive must have started to stink after awhile. I know it also pooped, but I doubt all the stuff came out ...

    I digress.

Good thing the new ones only pee, huh? Good luck with the babysitting, Melissa :)
