Lecture Time Between Mom and the Kiddies
The house was spotless, and the kids were in the process of making a mess:
I begin telling them that I just got through cleaning the house and pointed out that when they make a mess, guess who cleans it all up? Me! That's who.
Then I tell them that it makes my life more difficult because I'm spending all of my time cleaning when there are so many other things I have to do and can't get done.
I ask them "Why do you insist on making my life so difficult?"
Answer from Jessica, "Because it's cooool."

Great comment. I've given the same lecture verbatim. Though I probably added that if they keep doing that, the police are going to arrest them. Scared straight.

Heh heh. Isn't it great when they get to the age where they can give you the interesting come backs?
Right now when I go off on that lecture I get blank stares. Sometimes followed by giggles, then they leave the room and I'm left there standing by myself in a messy room.
Good thing they're cute, huh?

Why is it when little kids give an answer like that it's cute, yet when you past the age of 12 and give an answer like that your mother gives you death stares?
